A New Start - Soaring

For many people, Spring is the season for new beginnings.  However, I find Autumn to be the same.  If Spring is of birth & rebirth, then Autumn is of changes & transformations.  It's a great time to reflect on what has happened in the six months prior and see what can be made moving forward, not just in the next six months ahead, but even further into the future.

I had a wonderful dinner with a couple of friends last month. We chatted about many things, and my future happened to be one of our topics.  She mentioned that she saw big white wings behind me, and must fly far and high.  Since am no angel, the image of a migratory bird immediately came to mind.  She also noted that I would be probably calling more than one place home, most likely somewhere by the sea.  Our conversations were really positive and thought provoking.  Am so lucky to have such great friends.

Now is the perfect timing. The new season is here, and I feel like I too need to take a major step in a new direction.  So, I created this painting as a celebration of sort.

A new start is happening, and am embracing what it has in store for me!

After months of hard work with both pen and computer and having my patience tested to the max, it's finally available for sale!  Yes, you can now use Urara-chan and Lala via LINE on your smartphones, computers, and other devices!  They have became the LINE stickers that I hope will add a special touch to your daily communication with the ones around you, close and faraway.

I find most LINE stickers on the market a little too loud, and decided to ones that reflect me (a daydreamer in her 30's) most.  I created these two characters who are sisters, Urara-chan and Lala, and the "fluffy" world they live in.  Of course, the originals were all hand-drawn.  The digital part though, took me forever......

So if you are a LINE user (or will be soon), please go purchase the stickers, use them often, tell your friends about them, or even send the stickers to them as gifts!  More than making money from this, I hope to spread a little joy, and have more people know of my work. The stickers are available worldwide, and once purchased, they never expire!

Urara-chan, Matsuri

Urara-chan (-chan or ちゃん, is a cute way to call someone in Japanese.  You add it at the end of someone's name), is a character named after a very cute daughter of a friend of mine.

Here, Urara-chan is at a summer matsuri (festival), in a Japanese yukata (bathrobe, that may look like a kimono to most), and she is just about to bite into that sweet traditional candy apple.  I love matsuri in Japan, and couldn't resist painting about one!
