The “bubbles” series, which are inspired by wondrous gifts from Mother Nature and the beauty, tranquility, and the memories Jodi has experienced in Japan as well as in her everyday life. Each bubble is lovingly hand-painted in watercolour, as she hopes these little bubbles will bring lots of joy and positive energy to everyone.

All hand-painted, both Western and Eastern influences play enormous roles in Jodi's work. While she enjoys using Western ink and watercolours, she has a fondness for efude, natural Japanese paint brushes, white spaces, and light washes of colours. Her illustrations, featured here in three categories, are created with the blotted line drawing technique using ink and watercolour on paper, and her "bubbles" paintings, where each and every single bubble is individually painted by hand, with watercolour on either canvas or paper.
